For as long as I can remember I’ve always loved dressing up and helping others put together looks that make them feel beautiful. Through all my chapters of life, my love of fashion was always there.  

I graduated from Sam Houston University in August of 2022 (go bearcats!) with a degree in Fashion Merchandising and moved to Dallas for my first full-time job as an account manager for a clothing company. I quickly learned that though I had tons of experience working markets, the work environment wasn’t a good fit and I needed to move on.  

I knew even before graduating that I wanted to own my own boutique. I began working on it officially as a project for one of my classes and it grew from there. I was able to focus on Happy J while in-between jobs and that allowed me to build the brand. I couldn’t be more excited to share my passion project with y’all and for you to follow Happy J as we grow. 

Happy J got it’s name through some of my childhood nicknames (Jappy & Yapa). It was important that the name and feel of the boutique were authentic to me and the message I wanted to get across - that this is an inclusive space for all the cool girlies out there to find pieces that make them feel their best for any occasion.
